Tucson, AZ

Overall Score

3.8

The town of Tucson lies in the valley of the Santa Cruz River in the borderlands of the Eastern Desert. It is one of the fastest growing settlements in the country and has the status of administrative center of Pima County. The city is known by its second unofficial name. It is often referred to as “The Length of Optics”. The reason for this is the large output of optical products, particularly equipment and instruments, in Tucson.

Copper ore is extracted in the surrounding areas of the city, in the mountainous countryside. It is processed by the enterprises of Tucson. The town is known as a major transportation station serving an agricultural area with livestock and irrigated agriculture. Thanks to the low humidity and wind, the weather will be easy on the citizens. Winter rarely brings snowfalls here. This climate is due to the citys location in the Sonora Valley. The center of Tucson is occupied by the Old Quarter, formerly part of the Spanish port. To the northwest of the citys outskirts extends the Cactus Cactus Forest site.
