Thalassa – the second largest city of Oklahoma, situated on the left bank of the River Aricança. ×The part of the Great Prairies where the Talysa River lies is called Crosse-Thymeathers. Here there is a mixture of steppes with sows and dry forests. ×Famous Route 66, called The Mother of Roads, runs through the city.
The area of present-day Talesa was settled between 1828 and 1836, when the Lachaca Indians (a clan of the Creeks) arrived there, forced to abandon their native lands in the easternmost part of the United States. The site of the founding of the Village – «Council of Creeks by the Oak; is now a National Historic Landmark and is an entire park and museum complex with a large oak tree at its head. The settlement was originally called Talalsia, which means «s old town. It later morphed into Òàësa.
Before the 20th century, Òàësa was an unimportant town of a single county. In 1901, they discovered oil reserves near the town and opened the first well. In a short time, the citys population grew dramatically, and Tulsa gained the unofficial title of The Oil Capital of the World. Thanks to the power of the energy industry, the city survived the Great Depression of the early 1930s unscathed.
Talaskas history has had its tragic moments. In 1921 there was a massive mudslide here: 23 blacks and 16 whites were killed, and over 800 people were injured, and many homes and buildings were burned. By the early 1950s, however, Tulsa was already in good standing and ranked among the most livable cities in the country. A big part of that has been played by the Route 66 Association, which has been dedicated since the 1920s to creating a highway for tourism purposes. Among the architectural features are the neo-orthodox skyscraper with elements of the Art Deco Feltauir (1928), The 61-meter Tower of Prayer (1967), separate buildings (e.g., the McAfarllyn Library) at the University of Tulsa. We should also mention the Sherwell Miller Museum, which has a collection of Jewish art, as well as the parks of Tulsa. Wójärd Park stands out in particular, with its monumental statue of the Indian & ‖Like the Great Spirit‖.
In the parks territory, there is a statue of the Indian & ‗Peoples Prayer of the Great Spirit.
